Taekwondo also focuses on the development of important skills to prepare you for life, including confidence, respect, discipline, concentration, hand/foot/eye coordination, as well as health and fitness. Our Taekwondo classes have been specially designed to give you and/or your child the edge needed to succeed in life.

Our boxing classes start off warming up to the beat of some fun music and then progresses into an amazing workout. This exciting class uses free weights, punching bags, speed balls, floor to ceiling balls and focus mitts amongst other training aids to develop cardiovascular fitness and complete body toning.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art and combat sport that focuses on grappling and ground fighting with the goal of gaining a dominant position and using joint-locks and chokeholds to force an opponent to submit or be knocked out depending on the submission method used. It promotes the principle that a smaller, weaker person using leverage and technique can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger assailant.
The art is based on the concepts of Japanese Judo and Jiu Jitsu. The practice of BJJ is often seen in Mixed Martial Arts competitions like Ultimate Fighting Competitions (UFC).
For students aged 12 years and above.
Hapkido
Hapkido is a Korean martial art that focuses on defence rather than offence and is designed to neutralize an opponent through a range of techniques.
Hapkido, in Korean, means the way of energy and harmony. Hap is harmony, ki is energy and do is the way. Hapkido is designed to be a martial art which harmonizes body energy while maintaining a state of non-aggression. Many martial arts focus on non-aggression and can be practiced by men and women of all ranges of size and strength. Hapkido is about calculated moves rather than brute force.
Hapkido incorporates weapons, knowledge of nerve points, kicking, throws, joint locks, and hitting techniques into a flowing and beautiful discipline, where an attacker can be easily neutralized. As a defensive martial art, Hapkido is designed to deflect an attack back onto the attacker in a peaceful way. Often Hapkido takes advantage of nerve points in conjunction with joints to immobilize an attacker.
In movies such as Under Siege and Out For Justice, actor and martial artist Steven Seagal uses Hapkido in many of the fight sequences.
For students aged 12 years and above.
Self Defence Workshops/Combat Course
Our self defence workshops provide people with basic self defence skills without the need to commit to long term martial arts training. They are ideal for women’s groups and employees in industries that work out of standard business hours (such as call centres, hospitality and tourism, logistics and industrial). Our workshops are designed to provide an overview and improve confidence, personal safety and awareness.
The style of a self defence workshop varies, depending on the participants within the group. We focus on simple and effective self defence moves, rather than complex ones which require physical strength or knowledge of martial arts principles. In addition, as a participant you will be led through empowerment exercises to increase confidence and make you aware and more secure when out on the streets.
During our self defence workshops, participants will learn how to get out of a variety of different situations, how to block, kick, knee and punch and other physical techniques. In addition, participants will learn about vulnerable parts of the body, learn vocal ability and body language techniques. In many instances, the self defence techniques incorporate a variety of martial arts disciplines, as many martial arts have strong defence moves which are also easy to learn. Our state of the art training centre is fully matted and our extensive range of training equipment ensures that participant safety is always maintained. Alternatively, our workshops can be conducted at your club or workplace.
In addition to physical self defence, participants will learn about how to increase their personal safety in other ways. Participants are taught about awareness, how to assess a situation and how to communicate clearly. As part of the communication section of the class, students are often led in group exercises which include vocal commands and other modes of communication. Participants are taught about forceful and clear communication in emergency situations so that they are prepared to say “NO!” to an attacker or to cry out for help. At the end of the class, you will feel more secure and confident and will project this confidence on a daily basis.
